What is OPSA?
Online Parent Support Association
OPSA is a South African online support service for families who home-school. It provides affordable, CAPS-aligned learning programmes and term assessments for Grade 1 to Grade 9 — the compulsory schooling phase — in English and Afrikaans.
Each term, OPSA sets tests and examinations that track your child's progress against the national curriculum and confirm readiness for the next grade. At the end of Grades 3, 6 and 9 there is an end-of-phase assessment.
OPSA is not a school, and an OPSA account does not register your child for home education with the Department of Basic Education — that remains the parent's responsibility (see our registration page).

Optional add-on · Grade 1–6
Coding & Robotics
OPSA offers a Coding & Robotics course for Grades 1–6 (CAPS-aligned for Grades 1–3), in English or Afrikaans: 120 lessons covering pattern recognition and problem solving, algorithms and coding, robotic skills, internet and e-communication skills, and application skills — with hands-on activities and regular feedback.
It can be added when you register for assessments, or enrolled separately. It is included at no extra cost for learners on OPSA's day-to-day programme.
